Every spring The Arc of Buncombe County hosts a Spring Fling to help raise funds for members of the intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) community. This fundraiser helps to provide scholarships to help send people with IDD to specialized summer camps and respite programs.
Participants will receive specialized, meaningful, and beneficial activities. Often these interactions generate long-term memories and life skills that build the camper’s confidence and support their life skills training.
Not only are these camps important to the participants, but they’re also important to those who love them. When school is not in session, parents and caregivers who work, need people who are able to care for their loved ones. If funds are unavailable to support scholarships these parents and guardians are often unable to work. Without parents and guardians being able to work, utility bills, rent and other expenses can become an issue for the family. This is where you and The Arc come in.
We hope you will join us and purchase tickets to be part of this special evening! Make it a date night, and evening out with friends or a family night in support of other families! Your ticket price will include delicious food and drink, silent auction items, and dancing to the music of West Sound Productions.
